New cyber threats to watch out for

Six new cyber attacks are on the loose-read all about them here. If you really want to be scared, read this CSO guide on the most worrisome issues for 2011. How do we stay on top of such issues? A warning system is key.

New Microsoft OS
Microsoft says the new Windows 8 will run on all types of devices from small, touch-sensitive screens to traditional large-screen PCs, and it will be able to work either with a keyboard and mouse, or without. No new PC is required. The new interface is intended for use on all types of PCs, but Microsoft hopes the new OS will make the company more competitive in the tablet PC market.

Addressing the Android risks
It is one of the most popular mobile operating systems out there due to its "open policy." But there are also concerns about its security risks. Google recognizes the concern and announced plans to update the OS to plug a hole that enabled hackers to tap into users' credentials over public Wi-Fi networks.
